Facts:

• Women generally live longer than men (so will be retired longer)
• Women generally earn slightly less (so generally will save less)
• Women need to spend part of their lives raising children (again generally will work – thus save – less)

The earlier retirement age for women made sense historically when there was a huge gap in working conditions between the sexes and the majority of work was physical.

Nowadays the retirement age should be (at least) equal.
